A Seminar on Value and Importance of Education

A Seminar on “Value and Importance of Education” was held in Singrijan village last sunday. It was organized by the residential students of Youth Services of the Salesian college of Higher Education, Dimapur. The Chief resource persons were Fr. Dr. Policarp and Sr. Emelda Kerketta MSMHC. It began at 9 a.m. and ended by 2.00 p.m. It was split in to two sessions. Earlier, it started with the lighting of the lamp by the resource persons, catechists and a group of leaders.
Dr. Policarp underscored that education is for all not for few. Education is not only by school also through other means. The programme was further explicated with power-point presentation and action songs. These brought vitality and enthusiasm. There was a Holy Mass after the seminar. After the holy mass, there was a short felicitation programme. The catechist tossed the vote of thanks. The participants listened with the rapt attention. There were over 250 people. The entire programme left a deep impression on all the participants

Faith Fest Seminar is conducted

A Seminar on “FAITH FEST” was conducted at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Dhobinala, Dimapur. Around 75 youth and over 30 adults participated in it from Diphupar Rongmei, Diphupar B, Burma Camp and Zeliangrong Village. It was started on 22nd July 2017 and ended by 23rd July 2017. The prominent animators were Fr. Tom Karthik, Br. Philip Kamei, Fr. Joshua and Fr. T.C. Joseph. It was interspersed with the dance competitions, Singing competitions, Bible Quiz and etc. The participants truly enlivened the day and were truly enriched

At SCHE John Shilshi IPS talks on “Right Career” to find

John Shilshi, IPS Join Director National Security Council Secretariat Govt. of India, gave a motivational talk and career guidance for the students of Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE) at 11.30 am to 1.20 pm on 21 July 2017.
Sir John, twice awardee of the President’s Gallantry Medal for distinguished service, says, “Self-Introspection and Hard work are two important elements in choosing the right career in life.” He dealt on some career options: Travel agency, Computer engineer, Mass Communication, Language, Fashion Designing, and Social Works. He shaded some light on the values of reading books, research, persistence, honesty, confidence, time management, and above all being good human individuals. He also exhorted all to acquire the art of being an ‘enabler’ and not ‘importer’, and to adjust with the multi-cultures society.
Earlier, Fr. Policarp Xalxo, Principal of SCHE, welcomed and introduced Sir John to the gathering. In his vote of thanks, Principal expressed sentiments of gratitude on behalf of the College for the enriching sharing.
