YOUTH PASCH 2016, DIMAPUR


Dimapur: 30th March 2016:

DBIDL (Don Bosco Institute for Development and Leadership in the aegis of Don Bosco, Notun Basti witnessed the first ever youth Pasch on 26th March 2016. The participants were students numbering about 138 ( boys – 58 ; girls – 80). They were hailing from 14 centres/parishes from Nagaland, Manipur and Upper Assam,  namely, DBHSS – Dimapur, DB – Wokha, Christ King – Kohima, LFS- Kohima, Auxilium – Dimapur, DBS – Zubza,  Chavara – Dimapur, Don Bosco College – Maram,  DB – Maram, DB – Imphal, DB – Punanamei, DB – Doomdooma, DB – Tinsukia, DB – Harmutty.

It was remarkable to notice that the participants  came from 22 tribes namely : Lotha, Angami,  Rongmei, Maram, Mao, Adivasi,  Khasi, Bodo, Nepali, Zeliang, Sumi, Poumei, Tangkhul, Nocte, Nishi, Peitei, Anal, Sangtam, Yimchunger, Chakasang and Rengma so on and so forth. The initiative was taken by director of DBIDL Fr. CT Varghese in order to deepen the faith of our catholic students.

SCHOOL SELF – REVIEW AND EVALUATION (SSRE)


Dimapur: 23rd March 2016 :  

As part of the implementation of SPCSA decision on Standardization of Don Bosco Schools in India, the province of Dimapur is given the opportunity this year by the South Asian Delegate for Youth Ministry and the Secretary AIDBES Fr. Maria Charles, to train the principals of HS and HSS of the province on “School Self-Review and Evaluation” (SSRE). Miss. Poonam Choksi and Miss. Amisha Modi from Adhyayan (Adhyayan Quality Education Services Private Limited-Bombay) were the two professional trainers for the Principal’s Orientation Programme conducted at Dibrugarh (11 & 12 March), Dimapur(17 & 18 March) and Imphal (21 & 22 March).  All the Headmasters and Principals of our province together with one teacher from each school participated actively in the training programme. During the training, they were told about how to find evidences on what ‘Good’ looks like in their own school on 7 key performance area (KPA): Leadership and Management, Teaching and learning, The Child, The Curriculum, Community and Partnerships, Infrastructure and Resources and The Salesian Way. The two day training programme in each region was a wonderful enriching experience for all the principals. Now the Principals are confident to begin the ‘School Self-Review and Evaluation’ of their schools in preparation for the external agency (ADHYAYAN) to come and make the external review and evaluation of their schools. We thank Mr. Juby Jacob the cordinator from DBYA, the Principals and the teacher representatives for their cooperation in the new initiative of the province and wish them all the best.

 

Different Commissions of the Province Meet


Dimapur: 15th March 2016:

15th March was a chequered day in the annals of the province of dimapur. It was on this day the different commissions of the Province like: formation, youth ministry, Education and culture and Finance commissions etc met in the hall of Don Bosco Provincial House.  Fr. Bosco Perianayagam sdb, the Vice- Provincial, welcomed everyone for the meeting and hoped that the day would be frutiful and enriching for the province. Rev. Fr. Nestor Guria sdb, the Provincial, invited the members for the meeting and called them to be the agents of change and enrichment for the province. He further underscored if every member of every commission worked well, it would bring fresh lease of life, energy and optimism for the welfare and development of the province. Thereafter, different commissions broke off for group discussion highlighting as to what they have done and what could be further done for the region within the limit of their respective commissions. The meeting came to an end with the sumptous lunch prepared for the occasion.

Nagaland Regional Meeting held at Kohima


Dimapur: 14th March 2016:

Nagaland Regional Meeting was held at Don Bosco, Kohima, last week as many as 32  confreres attended it. The resource person for the  recollection was Provincial Chapter 2016 moderator : Fr. C. M. Joseph sdb.

 

Administrators’ Meeting Conducted


Dimapur 14th March 2016:

The Administrators of Dimapur province were animated  for a two -day long programme  at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur. It was an eye-opener and enrichment for the administrators in accounting and administration.

Fr. M.C. George – Mission Procurator


Dimapur: 11th  March 2016:

Fr. MC George sdb has been appointed as the mission procurator of the congregation. He would be taking charge the office in Rome soon. Hearty congratulations and God’s blessings upon him.

FR. T.O. Sebastian Awarded


Dimapur: 11th March 2016

Fr. TO Sebastian sdb gets international recognition for his innovative way of reaching the unreached. Boscome has received this award for its unique and effective style of Salesian Ministry in South Asia. The Pascual Chavez award has been confirmed on him for the wonderful work for the street children of Dimapur, Nagaland.
