Don Bosco HSS Dimapur launches community service

Dimapur : 4 October 2015:

Students of Class X of Don Bosco HSS, Dimapur kicked off its community service programme on 2nd October, 2015 with a visit to St. Joseph’s Orphanage home. 34 students along with their teachers interacted and spent time together with 50 children. Students shared all that they have through donation of a guitar, DVD player, water filter and clothes. They presented special numbers and exchange messages of empathy and encouragement to one another. They shared refreshment and proved that all are brothers and sisters whatever be the circumstances they are at present.

Fr. Joshua, the principal of the school opined such programmes as an important part of the school curriculum. The purpose of such a programme is to instill among the students compassion as to consider contribution for poorer children as their social responsibility. He announced that community services will be rendered by students of the school on a regular basis. Students will be given experiences of such a type to be empathetic for their counterparts who are less privileged than themselves. Infact it is their bounden duty to care and feel for students who do not enjoy the love and warmth of their own families. When students inculcate compassion and empathy for their own counterparts, they will be better prepared to be responsible leaders in the future.
